Best time to visit Hungary

Sitting right in the middle of Europe is the wonderfully unique and picturesque country of Hungary. The marvellous architecture - influenced by Western Europe (the Roman Empire in particular) - and the beautiful landscapes make a trip to this European country a once in a lifetime experience. Hungary's culture is unique in many ways because of the influences from both Russia and Western Europe. The people in this country have the elegance and panache of Europeans, along with the grit of the Russians, making it a unique combination. One can see these influences in Hungarian culture as well through their attire and food habits. Apart from all this, one of the major reasons to visit Hungary is the incredible hospitality of the people here. You will be amazed by how welcoming they are to tourists!

Hungary has a temperate climate, with one able to experience all four major seasons in the country. The summers are bright and pleasant and is apt for you to walk around and explore the cities to the fullest. Conversely, the winters are perfect for travellers who want to experience snowfall and enjoy various adventure sports like skiing, snowboarding, and so on.

Budapest is one place in Hungary that resonates with every tourist in the world. It won't be a far-fetched claim if we say that everyone who loves to travel might have thought of visiting Budapest at least once in their life. The capital city of Hungary is so beautiful in every aspect and this is what makes it so irresistible to tourists. The flat city of Pest is connected by a 19th century chain bridge to the hilly village of Buda, with the River Danube flowing in between. This picturesque setting is in itself enough to make anyone visit the city. Add to that the amazing architecture from different eras spread across the town, along with the unique food culture and you have yourself a city that is nothing short of a dream.

Apart from Budapest, Szentendre, Eger, Eztergom, Visegrad and Keszthely are some of the major tourist cities in the country. Here, you can witness various examples of neo-classical and gothic architecture through the centuries-old palaces, castles, churches and the present-day houses of the locals.

When it comes to natural landscapes, Hungary has a lot of options for you. Lake Balaton is the most popular spot in the country because of the huge freshwater lake here. Hortobagyi National Park is known for its wilderness, Aggletek for its caves and parks, Badascony for its volcano and vineyards and the Buda Hills for their stunning beauty. They are truly some of the beautiful natural landscapes that the country has to offer.

Since each of the seasons in Hungary offer a unique experience, it is important to know what the best time to visit is.
