Best Time to visit Saputara

Saputara, meaning ‘abode of serpents’, is a small hill station that sits nestled in the folds of the Sahyadris or the Western Ghats. A part of the Dang district in Gujarat, this tourist hill station has pleasant climate all year around. However, the best time to visit Saputara is winter, between December and February. The only hill station in Gujarat, located at an altitude of 1000 metres above sea level, it is surprisingly still unspoiled and not as commercialised as one would expect.

Weather: Summer in Saputara is a three-month affair. It begins in March and continues into May. Don’t get misled by the word “summer” – the days are anything but hot. The weather in winter of Saputara is perfect for paragliding and in fact, the hill station hosts the Paragliding Festival, an annual 26-day long festival in the months of December and January.
