How to Reach gambia

By Sea

You can also try to charter one of the many small tourist boats, but unless you are good at bartering, this option can be an expensive and time consuming one. However, this is one of the most scenic ways to visit, and if you want to do it, then by all means go ahead.

By Air

There are many different ways to get into this country, including planes, cars, buses and even by boats. One of the easiest ways to get here is by plane, and if you come during the tourist season, which is from October to April. During this time, you can get a flight from Brussels, Amsterdam, Manchester and many other large international airports. During the rest of the year you can also get flights here from other African countries, including Nigeria, Dakar, Gran Canaria, and if you want, you can also book a flight in advance to Barcelona from here.

By Road

You can also drive here, but it is not always recommended because the roads are not in good shape. You would need to come in from Senegal and enter from Amdalli, which is just a bit north of Barra. You will need to have a V5 logbook with you so that you can get in. Otherwise, you can rent a bush taxi from Dakar to Banjul, and from there to Zinguinchor. Hiring these taxis is a good idea and is easier than driving your own car into the country. You can also take a bus from Barra that will take you to Dakar and the buses are run by GPTC, but they are not always recommended as they are one of the slowest modes of transportation.
