Thomas Cook India declares Q1 results
Net profit increased to `48.3 million from `19.4 million,
an increase of 149%.

Mumbai April 26th 2011:

Thomas Cook (India) Limited declared its first Quarter results today.

Highlights -


With a view to tapping the growth potential & building for the future, the Company expanded its reach via increased Gold Circle Partners (GCP’s), and its existing branch network across India- including new counters at Delhi and Mumbai airports. Currently Thomas Cook India has the largest network with offices in 180 locations across 72 cities.


Expansion has resulted in a consequential increase in people and hence related costs. Expenditure was higher during the current quarter due to a one-time payout. Advertising
costs rose in preparation of the oncoming holiday season and will equate over the next three quarters.


Certain disruptions during the quarter, in one of the subsidiaries, resulted in one-time charges. These disruptions have been resolved.

The forward bookings for Outbound are looking strong and are higher by 23% compared to last year.
