Delhi, 23rd February 2011: Travel Corporation (India) Ltd. (TCI), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Thomas Cook (India) Limited, on the momentous occasion of completing 50 years; proudly introduces a new logo and an innovative branding initiative. The creative brand thought behind the transformed symbol for TCI, reiterates the lineage of the name while sustaining its credibility as one of the largest players in the inbound holidays and destination management space.
“Commemorating the completion of our 50 years, having reached the Numero Uno position in the realm of inbound travel we undertook an initiative to revamp the brand communication of TCI, that would be better suited for the dynamic market” shared Mr. Rakshit Desai, Executive Director – Travel Services, Thomas Cook (India) Limited on the fresh new look. “The new logo for TCI demonstrates where the brand stands today; and what we plan for it in the future. Our refreshed brand position tells our existing and future customers, that we offer the travelers qualitative services with the best hospitality. While TCI has been one of the largest players in the inbound holidays and destination management space and over the years the brand TCI has been recognized through its logo, the brand needed a ‘fresh impetus’ and hence a new logo, which adds buzz to the brand and at the same time keeps the basic essence of its ‘rich legacy’ intact.
About the new logo
The noticeable USP of the new logo is certainly the rich legacy we have created over the years with hiquality of service assisted by an attentive workforce selling a gamut of products (group tours, customized tours, charters, luxury train holidays etc.) offered to all inbound travelers within India. What better could signify this germinating idea than the Indian postal stamp?
The TCI logo is set in a stamp silhouette is designed with alluring Indian motifs in the background in royal colour tones of indigo and gold. The stamp shape is symbolic to travel and communication. We all share our experiences and our happy moments, our photos, our fun through the letters being shipped to our families.
The design is inclined towards Indian artistic motifs in the background to bring in the feeling of being Indian at heart. The new logo corresponds to the Indian values of warmth, friendliness, care, confidence and youth.
The indigo colour representation in the back signifies intuition, perception and concentration and deep knowledge. The royal aura of the colour indicates a lineage, nobility, a heritage and a sense of being premium. It denotes that, “We are the best, we have authority and we are on top of the heap.” The font used is a serif in bold which gives it grace and solidity.
