Appointment of Angus Porter on the Board of Directors

MUMBAI: Thomas Cook (India) Limited (TCIL) announced the appointment of Angus Porter, to the Board of Directors today. Porter is very familiar and extremely knowledgeable about the travel industry as he was recently appointed as the Group Strategy Director of Thomas Cook Group plc, prior to that he has been an Independent Non Executive Director on the Thomas Cook Group plc board since June 2007, and before that a Non Executive Director of the MyTravel Group plc board for five years.

Porter’s role is to drive key strategies of Thomas Cook Group, look for opportunities in new markets and develop new products and services. He will also take on strategic responsibility for the Thomas Cook brand and oversee the Group’s strategic e-commerce agenda. With his extensive experience, he will be a valuable addition to TCIL and the business will benefit enormously with his inclusion in the Board.

Angus has been Global CEO of Added Value, WPP's Brand Development Consultancy, with blue-chip clients including Vodafone, Pepsico and Nestle.
