Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) held on 8th June, 2001 for ratification of change in indirect control of TCIL

An Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) of Thomas Cook (India) Ltd. (TCIL) was held on 8th June, 2001 for passing the special resolution for ratification of change in indirect control of TCIL, pursuant to the SEBI order dated 20th March, 2001 issued to C&N Touristic AG. Under the said SEBI order, the shareholders were also allowed to cast votes by way of a postal ballot.

The Scrutinizers had a meeting with SEBI and they have now submitted the report on the poll to the Chairman of the EGM, who in turn declared the results. The Special Resolution placed before the EGM for ratification of change in indirect control of the Company was defeated and therefore, could not be passed by the requisite majority. (votes in favour - 29,00,108, votes against - 9,83,736)
