Located in the heart of the old city, the Jama Masjid Mosque is the home for many Muslim devotees across the valley. This historic mosque features four towers, three gates and two minarets made of sandstone and white marble. It was built by Shah Jahan with 5000 artisans who intricately carved verses from the Koran. The inside of the mosque has a black and white marble floor which resembles Muslin prayer mat and can house about 2,500 people at once maintaining utter silence.

How to reach: Reach Srinagar and follow the route to Nowhattain, the centre of the old city to reach the mosque.
