Painting an intimidating beautiful picture, Laxmi Vilas Palace is an evidence of the glorious past of Gujarat. Built in an exemplary Indo-Saracenic style of architecture, this magnificent palace was built in the period 1878 to 1890, and was commissioned by Maharaja Sayaji Rao III. Its daunting façade coupled with the ornately designed interiors leave its spectators speechless. With a humongous Durbar hall, splendid Italian mosaic flooring and large collection of rare artefacts such as armoury, terracotta, bronze statues, marble sculptures etc. are a remarkable sight.
