This memorial was raised in honor of the horse, Chetak belonging to Maharana Pratap and the statue stands where it died. The horse and Pratap where grievously injured in the battle in 1576, but Chetak had managed to carry his master to the opposite end of the Haldighati.



There isn't really much for kids to do in this temple related town, but some of the hotels such as Garden View Hotel have special kid oriented activity centres. Not only do they have a kid’s activity area, but there is also a pool for relaxing and swimming.



The story of how exactly this statue came to be is something that changes depending on who you are asking, with the locals believing that the statue was self manifested in the stone form and protruded from the Govardhan Hill. The statue is made fully of black stone and is one of the most popular statues in the area. There are over 500 cows in the area and one of them is thought to be the cow of Srinath Ji.


This museum just opened in 2003 and the whole thing tells a story. The museum is dedicated to telling the story of the many battles of Maharana Pratap and the Mughals.


There are a few parks and gardens in the area, which are perfect for sitting and relaxing. One of the popular gardens is called Navneet-Priya Garden. However, most of the hotels is also supposed to have small gardens, which can be enjoyed as well.



One of the top things to do when visiting this city is to go and visit Udaipur, which sits less than 50 kilometres away. There is a lot to do in the city, including shopping, visiting other attractions and much more.


One of the best ways to enjoy the natural beauty of this area is to visit the river. This area is extremely peaceful and you will feel like you have stepped into another time all together.


There isn't much to do in terms of cultural activities here, unless you include the many temples. The temples are a great place to go and learn about the culture, the religion and even about the gods and goddesses.


This is known for the famous 'Chaitri-Gulab' and everything else that is made of roses. The most popular things here that people take back home include rose water, which is said to have medicinal properties and even the rose jam or 'gulkand'.



You can go out and wander around the river or the mountains around here. This means that you can just enjoy being outside and in nature. However, there isn't really much to do in nature besides hiking.

There aren't any spas here, but one of the best relaxing activities you can do here is meditating. With all of the temples around, it isn't hard to find a small quiet space that you can meditate. Also, you can take a book down near the river and read.

Unless you can find some live music at one of the nearby temples, there won't be live music to be had in this city. There aren't any bars or clubs to host the bands.

Food in nathdwara


There are a few restaurants around the city, but most of them are located in the hotels and Dharamshala's where the pilgrims reside. However, most of these places are vegetarian and don't allow non-vegetarian or other kinds of food inside. The most popular places to eat are at the many roadside stalls in the city.


There is a huge variety of different foods here that are popular, especially from the road side stalls. However, the most popular dishes include khaman, jalebi, phaphda, kand, mukhwas and masala tea.

Night Life in nathdwara


Being that this city is a city that most people come to for worship, there isn’t any dance or nightclubs in the area. You won't even find anywhere to dance in the hotels and if you want to dance you should go to Udaipur.

Shopping in nathdwara


There aren't any flea markets in this city, but if you want to look around you can visit some of the street markets. There are so many interesting things that you might find something that interests you and you can get for a decent price.


There aren't any huge department stores because most of the people who come here will look to purchase items that are religious in nature. However, if you travel to Udaipur you will find whatever it is you are looking for.


There are numerous different street markets in this area, but the one that is most frequently visited is the areas that sell the paintings of Shri Krishna. Also, another popular item that people buy in this area is grains of rice with names written on them which is something the area is famous for.
