St. James Parish Church

This is one of the oldest and amongst the oldest church of Barbados. Its construction dates back to the year of 1847. Just like the Liberty Bell of America, this church also has a bell in the southern porch. This bell carries inscriptions. The stained glass windows and the mural tablets are worth watching features of this church.

Cenotaph

This is an obelisk built in the remembrance of the people who died serving their countries in the World War. The names of those people are inscribes on the walls of this tower like monument. Every year on the Remembrance Day, people gather around this monument and perform special services. The historic background of Barbados becomes evident here.

Christ Church Parish Church

The church we see now on the site is the fourth church that was made in quick succession. The rest three churches were destroyed by some kind of natural calamities. Mystery has it that the church is famous for its Chase Vault where the coffins are found to be moving inside sealed vaults. The eeriness of the place can only be experienced after visiting the church.

3W’s Monuments

The most famous monument of this island is the Barbados Monument. It houses the busts of magnificent West Indian Trio Sir Frank Worrell, Sir Clyde Walcott and Sir Everton Weekes. They are the most famous cricketers belonging to West Indies. These three were knighted for their indescribable contribution to the sport of cricket. This magnificent monument surrounded with tropical flora is a must visiting sight for the tourists.

Barbados Wildlife Reserves

This is a place appropriate for kids. This open air zoo is home for wide variety of flora and fauna. It has imported green monkeys and also houses iguanas. It is a self guided sanctuary and thus easy to travel.  The roads make their own way through the mahogany forests. Kids are generally fond of birds and animals. Cuban Monument

This monument is situated in the western coast of Barbados. This pyramidal monument is constructed in the memory of the Cuban victims who were killed in a severe bombing in the year of 1976. The Cuban civilian airlines which had passenger on board was bombed. It is an interesting place to visit.
