Inside the museum you will find various exhibits that display Galway’s extremely rich archaeology and cultural and historical heritage.

For post pub eating, head to the Kebab house, where the food is extremely cheap, extremely junk and extremely flavourful! For pizzas and food for kids, go to Fat Freddy’s Famous Pizzeria and Bistro. It’s one of Galway’s longest established joints and serves excellent food.

The nightlife in Galway is buzzing like there’s no tomorrow. The energy spills out from the pubs and clubs and out into the streets! One thing is always sure in Galway- you’re never going to have a boring evening. Step out for a night walk at the seaside promenade and fall in love with the sparkling beauty of the Galway Bay. Go bar hopping at the hip joints in and around Salthill. Indulge in some local beer at the Oslo- a dance hall turned into a microbrewery. Enjoy a game of soccer on one of the large screen set up outside at Krema- here’s where you’ll also find the European part of the population. Go clubbing at any of the swanky clubs or indulge in some traditional music.

Galway has an only pedestrian market where you’ll find the perfect blend of local stores and high end outlets. Tourist specific shops meant specifically for mementos and little gifts to take back home are also very easy to find here. Don’t miss the market outside St. Nicholas’ Church, which is the oldest market in the city.
