Gastronomy house

This too is a museum that gives you a tour of over 500 years of ancient history and wisdom along with the influence of other cuisines and flavors on the overall gastronomical taste of Peru. The influence of the flavors and its fusion with that of the country’s cuisine, the tour also explores the evolution of the cuisine of Peru and all the ingredients that are used for the gastronomical delight of the Peruvian cuisine.

Torre Tagle Palace

Located just a few blocks away to the east of the Plaza de Armas, the Torre Tagle Palace is a mansion bearing the testimonials of the colonial architecture of Lima. Built in 1735, this building is now home to the Foreign Ministry and thus the entry is restricted. But it is worth taking a look from the outside for the stunning baroque stone architecture.

Museo Arqueologico Rafael Larco Herrera

This museum is known for its largest collection of pre Columbian ceramics in the world and is a private collection. Founded in 1926, the museum is located inside an 18th century mansion that again was built on a 7th century pre Columbian Pyramid.


The modern suburb of Miraflores has a nice park with lots of internet cafes and shops. Walk down a little from the park and you will come to Larco Mar which is a shopping complex that offers great views of the Pacific Ocean. There are also other parks like Parque Kennedy, Parque de la Exposicin, Parque de la Muralla, Parques and Malecones de Miraflores, ParqueUniversitarioetc that are worth visiting.

Fun Filled Destinations ForKids

There is not much to do in Lima for the children. However, there is the Magic Water Circuit at the Parque de la Reserva along with some other children friendly parks and gardens in the city that will certainly make their day. Kids also love the Mirabus. The two zoos the Zoologico de Huachipa and the Parque de lasLeyendas have several animals and kids enjoy a lot here. 

Museo Nacional de Arqueologia Antropologia e Historia Del Peru

This museum is home to one of the largest collections of various artefacts from the pre Hispanic cultures of Peru.


The land of Peru is fabled. If you want to visit this fabled land, the best place to start from is Lima. There are several beaches in Lima although because of the strong undercurrent in the water, it is not safe to go in the water. 

Plaza Mayor in Central Lima

This part of Lima essentially belongs to the colonial part of the city. This is exactly the place which was founded by Francisco Pizarro in 1535. The northern part of this area is the home of the president of Peru, the Government Palace. On the east side of the Plaza is the Cathedral which was completed in 1622. The remains of the founder of the city is placed inside a small chapel within the cathedral inside a glass coffin.

Museo de la Nacion

The museum looks like a concrete building from outside and is located in one of the busiest locations in Lima. However, once you get inside, you will notice that the National Museum of Lima is well worth a visit for its treasure house of information.
