Balaram Ambaji Wildlife Sanctuary In Ambaji

This wildlife sanctuary originates its name from two major shrines which are Ambaji and Balaram. These two temples are situated at the reverse corners of the sanctuary. The place is habitually rich in floral variety which mainly includes the medicine plants and shrubs. It has plentiful floral and faunal types of global preservation implication. The sporadic flora comprises of Kadaya, Musali and Gugal.

The chief plants and trees are that of Khair, Modad, Khakhara, Salai and Dhavada. Khakhara is known as the flame of the forest. It is also well-known as different other names as it blooms in the winters with its outstanding red colour depicting the flames in the jungle. The infrequent animals consist of striped hyenas, bluebull, porcupines, pangolin, sloth bear, leopard and fox. They also have a quantity of reptiles comprising of poisonous and non-poisonous snakes, lizards and tortoise.
