This is the best summer resort of the Bikaner Maharajas. It has frequently been described as 'an incomparable jewel in the Thar desert'. The palace was used by the Maharaja for grand shoots and lavish entertainment. The Indian as well as international Viceroys and other dignitaries have been given great welcome at this outstanding palace.
The architectural designs of the Gajner palace is truly exceptional. This palace is built in red sandstone with tortuously carved pillars, jharokhas and screens.The craftsmanship of this palace is amazing and unique. The palace is surrounded by beautiful wooden structures, which is now a well-preserved sanctuary. It provides shelter to chink Aras, blackbucks, blue bull (neelgai) and flocks of imperial sand grouse. One of the parts of the palace has been transformed into a hotel.
