One can take guided or unguided hikes over the glacier, however the rules require one to take a helicopter flight over the terminal face which has been unstable for the last couple of years. Beyond that the visitors can walk and explore the glacier along with its ice caves and crevasses till the first icefall, which is a natural step formed by a frozen waterfall on the land. Alternately one can also be dropped off between two icefalls for a more secluded and pristine experience.
