The cuisine available at Christmas Island, reflects the ethos of the island perfectly – vivacious, myriad yet perfectly in sync. Restaurants at the Island have no lack of character or palate-pleasing food. The RumahTinggi Bar and Grill is located in an 80 year old heritage building and serves up handcrafted artisan food and drink – tapas is a favourite here while The Golden Bosun Restaurant with its modern international cuisine, sublime desserts and enchanting views of the Indian Ocean makes for a great spot for a cup of coffee. The Christmas Island Restaurant and The Coffee Shop, more popularly known as Poon Saan Kopi Tiam are also for their sublime fare. While the former serves some of the best Western and Asian fusion food on the Island, the latter offers up a different, authentic hawker dish each day.
