Mehrangarh Fort

Constructed under the reign of Rao Jodha of the Rajput empire, this is one of the largest forts India has ever witnessed. Located 400 feet above the sea level, on a 112 meters high mountain, this fort is surrounded by majestic walls with seven points of entry. The Iron Gate of this fortress, also known as Lohapol has many handprints that are believed to be the sati marks of the Maharaja Man Singh's widows, who threw themselves into the pyre after his death.

How to reach:  Take a local ride or hire a taxi.

Cost: It will cost you INR 100-150 approximately.

Operating hours: 9 am to 5 pm
