In a major boost to tourism, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Daman and Diu Helicopter Service. Pawan Hans Limited, the government-owned Helicopter Aviation Company will be operating a six-seater chopper from both Daman & Diu.
Daman and Diu Helicopter Service Timings
The new helicopter service will reduce the travel time taken to reach Daman & Diu from 16 hours to just over an hour. Moreover, the 16-hour journey was not only time consuming but also treacherous as the road conditions were really bad.
The new Helicopter will depart from the Daman Helipad at 9.30 am and reach Diu by 10.40 am. For the return journey, the airport will depart at 11.30 am and reach Daman by 12.40 am.

Daman and Diu Helicopter Service Prices
As per official sources, the prices for a one-way trip are INR 2,600. These, however, will be introductory prices and they may go up after some time. The government of India, in an effort to boost tourism, are offering subsidised rates for a period of 3 months.
Also Launched: Diu Ahmedabad Flight Services
The PM also launched a direct flight service between Diu and Ahmedabad. The flight services will be operated by Air Odisha and a Beechcraft B-1900D a18-seater aircraft will be used. This again will be a major boost for tourism in Gujarat and the Union Territories as well.
Diu Ahmedabad Flight Services Timings
The flights will operate daily and depart from Ahmedabad by 12.35 pm. They will reach Diu by 1.50 pm. The return flight will depart at 2.00 pm and reach Ahmedabad by 3.10 pm.
Diu Ahmedabad Flight Services Prices
Introductory Flight Prices will be INR 2,050 for a one-way trip.
The helicopter services in Gujarat follow the recent announcement of the Bangalore Heli Taxi Services which are also expected to launch in the coming week. In addition to this, there are also plans by the government to launch Sea-Plane services connecting major tourist attractions and metropolitans with an aim to boost tourism.
