Travel to Mussoorie – The ‘Queen of hill stations’
Table of contents
If your idea of a holiday getaway involves serene hills, pristine nature and an unadulterated holiday experience, you should pack your bags and set off on a travel to Mussoorie. Daintily perched on a mountainous ridge, the ‘Queen of Hill Stations’ flaunts some of the most scenic vistas with élan, which puts it at par with Nainital, another major tourist magnet. Its natural beauty makes Mussoorie one of the most preferred locations of choice for honeymooners. For any tourist enjoying the Mussoorie holidays, the sight of the green Doon Valley juxtaposed with the snow-capped crests of the Himalayas, will be a sight hard to forget. It is a great retreat from the scorching plains as the pleasant weather makes for an ideal vacation spot. Being a favorite British holiday destination, there are many remnants of the Raj era that still engulf the charming hill station and can be seen reflected in the town’s archaic architecture comprising its hotels, churches, libraries and summer retreats.
Explore, indulge and relax on your travel to Mussoorie
While you are experiencing a Marvellous Mussoorie adventure, reclining amidst nature and serenity, you can also pay a visit to one of the several local tourist attractions that are strewn about in close proximity. One of the most attractive tourist draws here is The Mall, which is a busy stretch of boulevard extending from the Cloud’s End (west) to the Rockville (east). The Mall road is seeped in old world charm, accentuated by the municipal garden which is like a decorative centre piece on it. The Tibetan School and Home and the National Academy of Administration adds to the charm of the entire set up.
One of the most amazing things to indulge in on a travel to Mussoorie is the enticing ropeway experience. The ropeway commences from Gun Hill, which is the second highest peak of Mussoorie. Travelling along the ropeway enables you to have a bird’s eye view of the town as well as the famous Doon School. You can also enjoy a wide panoramic view of the Himalayan ranges set afar, which will remain the most poignant aspect of your travel to Mussoorie.
You can also simply take a walk along or travel on horseback on the mesmerizing stretch of road between Kurli Bazaar and Library Point. Besides, you can also visit the Jharipani Falls, located 6 km from Mussoorie for a day of fun and frolic with your friends or a simple and quiet picnic with your family.
