Jaisalmer Desert Festival:

The Jaisalmer Desert Festival is the perfect platform that provides a profound insight into the traditions and culture of Rajasthan. Held amidst the beautiful dunes of the Sam Sands, the festival introduces us to the unique culture of the state. There are several competitions held during this three-day extravaganza, some of the popular competitions are the Turban Tying Competition, the mustache competition, and the Mr. Desert Competition. However, the highlight of the festival is the musical performances by traditional folk singers who create a magical ambience under the moonlit sky. Taj Mahotsav

Khajuraho Dance Festival

Khajuraho – the world renowned UNESCO heritage site is a glowing example of one of the finest temple arts of history. Built in the 10th Century during the Rajput Chandela Dynasty, the temples of Khajuraho are an ideal backdrop to display the rich cultural heritage of India. The Khajuraho Dance Festival is the celebration of traditional Indian dance forms performed in an open air auditorium. Head to Khajuraho for an immersive cultural experience.

Goa Carnival

When: 22 February 2020 – 25 February 2020
Where: Panaji

The Goa carnival is as unique and exclusive as the state of Goa. Introduced by the Portuguese in the 18th Century as a precursor to the abstinence of Lent, the carnival has now come a long way. As the festival is celebrated 40 days before the Lent, the carnival is high on energy with an army of dancers. They are accompanied by brilliantly coloured floats which are beautifully decorated with flowers. The Goa Carnival translates the mood of every merry-maker through its parades, colourful masks and delicious cuisine. A visit to Goa during the carnival is highly recommended and must be added to your things to do in Goa. The high-on-energy carnival is concluded with the famous Red and Black ball that is usually held in Panaji.

Losar Festival

When: 24th February 2020 – 26th February 2020
Where: Leh

The Losar Festival marks the beginning of the Tibetan New Year. Often considered as the biggest Indo – Tibetan festival, Losar is celebrated in large numbers both by locals and visiting tourists. The 3-day celebrations give visitors a glimpse of the Tibetan culture through dance, songs and celebrations on the street.
