Goa Carnival

When: 22 February 2020 – 25 February 2020
Where: Panaji

The Goa carnival is as unique and exclusive as the state of Goa. Introduced by the Portuguese in the 18th Century as a precursor to the abstinence of Lent, the carnival has now come a long way. As the festival is celebrated 40 days before the Lent, the carnival is high on energy with an army of dancers. They are accompanied by brilliantly coloured floats which are beautifully decorated with flowers. The Goa Carnival translates the mood of every merry-maker through its parades, colourful masks and delicious cuisine. A visit to Goa during the carnival is highly recommended and must be added to your things to do in Goa. The high-on-energy carnival is concluded with the famous Red and Black ball that is usually held in Panaji.

Losar Festival

The Losar Festival marks the beginning of the Tibetan New Year. Often considered as the biggest Indo – Tibetan festival, Losar is celebrated in large numbers both by locals and visiting tourists. The 3-day celebrations give visitors a glimpse of the Tibetan culture through dance, songs and celebrations on the street.
