Kenya Travel Guidelines

  • Can Indian travel to the Kenya?
  • NO

  • Eligibilty
  • From India to Kenya
  • Nationals/residents of any country in Africa; and
  • Any Indian national holding any type of valid visa from Kenya and destined for any country in Africa. It would be for the airlines concerned to ensure that there is no travel restriction for Indian nationals to enter the destination country with the particular visa category before issue of ticket/ boarding pass to the Indian passenger.
  • From Kenya to India
  • i. Indian nationals stranded in any country in Africa;
  • ii. All Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders holding passports of Kenya;
  • iii. Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders holding passports issued by any country in Africa who are eligible to enter India as per MHA guidelines dated 30.06.2020 as amended from time to time; and
  • iv. Nationals of Africa (including diplomats) holding valid visa issued by an Indian Mission in any category covered under Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) guidelines dated 30.06.2020 as amended from time to time.

    Please note you will be required to fill the Travelers Health Surveillance Form ONLINE via Downloading “Jitenge MoH Kenya” App and Signing up as Air Traveler or via bit.ly/covid19moh.
  • Wear your face mask at all times
  • Have a COVID19 free certicate as per Ministry of Health guidelines
  • SARs-CoV-2 PCR Test Mandatory 96hrs before arrival
  • Stranded Indian Nationals in Kenya seeking repatriation assistance must:
  • All arriving passengers must fill this health declaration form before entry into Kenya. A confirmation QR code will be sent to every passenger after they successfully fill this form. It must be shown to immigration/ required health authorities on arrival.
  • A negative Covid certificate taken within 96 hours of travel is mandatory for boarding. : https://www.kcaa.or.ke/approved-pcr-testing-labs
  • And International Travelers Health Surveillance Form needs to be filled prior to travel.: https://ears.health.go.ke/airline_registration/
  • Please check with the Consulates/ High Commission of the destination country for further quarantine and testing protocols.

  • Quarantine Protocol
  • Mandatory quarantine duration for Indians: None if carrying a negative test. Otherwise, quarantine till on-arrival test is negative.

  • Mandatory Quarantine & Testing Rules
  • Everyone (including transit passengers) must have a printed medical certicate with a negative COVID-19 test result. Test must have been taken within 96 hours before departure from the first embarkation point and it must be in English.
  • If the test certificate time line has expired (due to long transit gap etc), travellers must take a self-paid test on-arrival and quarantine till result is out.
  • For passengers traveling out of the country, they will be required to abide by the particular travel, health and COVID-19 related requirements of the destination country.
