The Huanglong Valley contains 2.2 miles of terraced pools flowing between the forests and the rugged mountains. Known for its exotic natural beauty, the valley is also called the “Fairy Land on Earth”. The reason behind the formation of these pools is the geological changes that happened over a millennium with mineral deposits building up and creating travertine pools. Formed completely out of the limestone, they are found at different levels with the blue water cascading over the waterfalls and hollowing out of the valley caves.
