Get Your Dose of ‘Vitamin Sea’ at Some of India’s Most Glorious Beaches

Table of contents
“The sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonder forever.” Just think about it. How many times have you caught yourself unconsciously day-dreaming about sun, sand and serenity? Those dreary days at work seem so much more bearable when you have the cushion of a special memory to support you. You can almost feel the warm wind caressing your face, soft sand tickling your toes, sweet creamy mocktail exploding in your mouth, cerulean waves moving majestically towards you. The enchantment of the sea transcends mere reason. It is an emotion, a state of mind, a profound feeling that is unlike anything else in the world. Like they say, happiness comes in waves. And so, when the beach comes calling, we must answer!
Take a look at these 6 destinations that will have you living in the sunshine, swimming in the sea and drinking in the wild air.
Varkala Beach – Kerala

Quaint, tranquil and balmy Varkala Beach is the laid-back alternative to bustling Kovalam. It marks the point at which Kerala’s jagged cliffs meet the animated Arabian Sea. The exquisite coming together of land and water; nature’s soulful symphony. The top of the cliff is paved by a winding stretch of road that is dotted with charming boutiques and shacks, offering cute little handicrafts and tasty snacks. The bottom of the cliff is a vast expanse of soft-gold beach that is ideal for taking long strolls, stretching across the warm sand and splashing against the cool aqua. Cosy up on one of the beach chairs and sip a Pina Colada as you watch the sun melt into a pool of gooey orange. You’ll also discover plenty of places that specialize in Yoga and Ayurvedic treatments if you’re craving a little ‘me time’. Furthermore, the spring from the southern cliff is believed to have medicinal properties. Do check that out!
Palolem Beach – Goa, One of the Beautiful Beaches in India

Our blog would be amiss without a mention of Goa’s fabulous and fantastical sand pits! Palolem Beach is a page right out of a glossy travel brochure. Ivory sand, like powdered sugar, litters the extensive shore. Emerald palms sway in the breeze, towering over multicoloured shacks. Sparkly-sapphire waters stretch animatedly, as far as the eye can see. A melange of locals and foreigners thrive and flourish, simultaneously. From Yoga to Ayurveda, dolphin spotting to silent disco techs, Palolem’s offerings vary like the shades of blue. Largely unspoiled and tinted with an extraordinary filter, this picturesque beach is everything you’ve day-dreamed off and more! And the best part is, the tunes don’t stop till 10 pm. As such, you get a little bit of fun and a little bit of peace too.

Shaped like a half moon, its topography will fascinate and intrigue intrepid travellers and beach bums. Untouched by capitalism’s hand, one can seek immense solitude and collect delicious moments of peace – amidst rocks and sand. To reach this little nook in nature, you must hike or take a boat from neighbouring Om Beach. However, it is advisable not to undertake this journey in the monsoons. For all you backpackers, wanderers and soul searchers out there, this beach is yours for the taking. Read a book, listen to your favourite song, as the waves crash against the shore. Drink in the tropical air and watch as the granules of sand make patterns on your skin.
