Located in the oldest part of the city, Christ Church Cathedral is deemed as one of the finest edifices of Dublin. Also called Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, it is a major Protestant cathedral in Ireland, as it is. The existing cathedral’s root can be traced back to 1172 post-conquest of Dublin. The architecture is a blend of Norman and English Gothic styles. A heavy restoration in 1878 took away much of the edifice’s medieval character.
