National Museum of Iran is the first museum in Iran and houses collection of archaeological and cultural treasures. It has a collection of ancient and medieval Persian antiquities. These include fine pottery vessels, metal objects, and textiles remains from different cities, rare books and coins. There is also a collection of handwritten copies of the Holy Quran, calligraphy and engravings.
