There is a municipal museum located in the city of Nice, the Museum of Fine arts Jules Cheret. There is a huge collection of the works of the painter and the poster of the artist Jules Cheret who died in Nice. This museum is located to the west of downtown. The site consists of a palace and the museum. The museum was actually constructed from a depot state which was desired by Napoleon III after he annexed Nice to France in 1860.
