Places to Visit in Nice

This is the oldest monastery of Nice. There is a cloister and a church. The church was given the status of a historical monument in 1913. The facades and the roofs of the cloister and the abbey are also considered the same. There are beautiful works of art also inside the walls of the abbey depicting the thirty manuscripts of the Passion of Saint Pons.

Public receptions also take place in a pavilion located at the north of the building. Both the villa and the museum are important tourist attraction of Nice.

There is a huge collection of the works of the painter and the poster of the artist Jules Cheret who died in Nice. This museum is located to the west of downtown. This is the most beautiful landmark of Nice. Numerous exotic style castles were built in Nice from 1856 to 1858. This castle marked the beginning of the construction of those exotic castles in Nice. Its color and shape makes it the most beautiful and strongest monuments that were built on the Riviera. This castle is located on the rocky slopes on the southeastern side of Mount Boron. It is said that the structure of the castle was inspired from the neo-classical Mughal structures. 

Located on the east of the port of Nice this is an important building, attracting quite a good number of visitors. This prison was built mainly to reserve forced labour. It is known that between 1770 and 1854 this prison can accommodate more than two hundred convicts. The Hose of Savoy mainly decided to build this prison in the last quarter of the XVIII century. It was built to house a workforce that was close to the site of harbor basin excavation. This was also given the respect of a historical monument on 16th September 1943.

This is the most famous monument of Nice which is surrounded by a botanical garden. This is basically a church located in the French department of the Alps Mountain. It is a local belief that this monument or church is the summer residence of the bishops of Ventimiglia. However, no documents are there which records this history. This building is also given the status of a historic monument in 3rd September 1996.
