  • Can Indian travel to the Canada?
  • YES,but selectively.

  • Eligibilty
  • Travel is open for Canadian citizens, permanent residents, and persons registered under Canada’s Indian Act. Close family members of Canadian nationals or permanent residents are permitted to enter Canada; given they can prove their relationship and are staying for at least 15 days.
  • Those travelling for ‘essential’ reasons and those travelling directly from the US are permitted to enter Canada. Canadian government defines ‘essential travel’ as non-optional, emergency travel that is nonrecreational/ non tourism related.

  • Indian passport holders on visitor visas can travel for Family Reunication reasons, with authorisation letter as applicable. Click here for details.
  • Before departure, all passengers must download the ArriveCan mobile app (IOS or Android) and provide necessary information through a form available on the app.

  • Travellers arriving from any country are subject to quarantine for 14 days
    If a traveller is showing symptoms, there is mandatory isolation for 14 days If you do not have private transportation or an adequate place to isolate, the Chief Public Health Officer of Canada will designate a facility where you must isolate for 14 days
  • Travellers entering Canada by air or by land must be screened by a border services ofcer or quarantine officer to assess symptoms

  • Mandatory Quarantine & Testing Rules
  • All persons arriving in Canada will be medically screened upon arrival. Those with symptoms will not be allowed to enter.
  • All incoming visitors to Canada must quarantine for 2 weeks at either a hotel or private residence on arrival. The address must be shared with authorities at the port of entry.
  • Having a ‘quarantine plan’ is mandatory for all those entering Canada, without which entry shall be denied. This plan includes details on how they plan to travel from the port of entry to their quarantine address and how they plan to access grocery stores, pharmacies etc. while under quarantine.
