5. Vizhinjam
Vizhinjam, although located in extremely close proximity to Kovalam and Poovar, yet manages to remain distinct with its shipping ports and rock cave temples. Vizhinjam holds a major historical importance (exhibited through the prominence of its rock cave temples) as it used to be the capital of the Ay Dynasty.
