Chamarel is a village in the Southwest of Mauritius with a population of not more than 700. It is named after the Frenchman, Charles Antoine de Chazal de Chamarel, who lived in the area back in the 1800s. Chamarel is known for its mesmerising beauty and scenic attractions. The major attractions here include the Seven Coloured Earth, the Chamarel Falls, and the Black River Gorges National Park. Chamarel village is also known for its locally grown coffee and is surely among the best places to visit in Mauritius.
