One of the best examples of the Buddhist cave art, these caves were built in the 5th century and are magnificent. They have more than 51,000 states, celestial bodies, all of them engrossed within a Shanxi shade. These caves are mainly influenced by the Persian, Indian and Greek architecture.

How to reach: Take the bus 603 from Datong railway station to the terminus. You can also take a taxi.
Approximate Cost: It will cost you INR 800-1200 approximately.
Operating hours: 8:30 am to 5:30 pm from 1st April to 15th October; 8:30 am to 4:50 pm from 16th October to 31st March.
