The Cathedral of Our Lady of Immaculate Conception in MaheIsland is one of the first churches erected on the islands of Seychelles. It is famous for being the ultimate resting place of the first and only Bishop of Seychelles, Felix Paul who passed away in the year 2001. He was buried within a tomb concealed in the interior of the cathedral and the site is now marked by a plaque. The Cathedral has been renovated over the years and now resembles little of its early form. The HinduTemple, Arul MihuNavasakthiVinayagaris located in MaheIsland and was erected in the year 1992.
