Located in the capital of the SeychellesIslands, Victoria, on MaheIsland, the BicentennialMonument is referred to by the locals as “Monimantrwalezel” which means “monument with three wings”. It was constructed in the year 1978 in order to commemorate the 200^th anniversary of Victoria town. The monument serves as a representation of the European, Asian and African origins of the inhabitants of Seychelles.

The Cathedral of Our Lady of Immaculate Conception in MaheIsland is one of the first churches erected on the islands of Seychelles. It is famous for being the ultimate resting place of the first and only Bishop of Seychelles, Felix Paul who passed away in the year 2001. He was buried within a tomb concealed in the interior of the cathedral and the site is now marked by a plaque. The Cathedral has been renovated over the years and now resembles little of its early form. The HinduTemple, Arul MihuNavasakthiVinayagaris located in MaheIsland and was erected in the year 1992. It is an explosion of Hindu artistry and color and was named after the Hindu god of prosperity and safety, Lord Vinayagar

The most famous museum on the SeychellesIslands happens to be the National Museum of History in MaheIsland. Formed in the year 1964, the National Museum of History is responsible for the acquisition, preservation and finally the exhibition of various historical artefacts. Many of the items presented in the show include an old map that was drawn in the year 1517, the Stone of Possession along with the smallest statuette in the world of Queen Victoria. The National Archives of Seychelles houses valuable records, including antique photographs dating back to the 1770s when the first settlers arrived at Seychelles
