The whole of Nong Khiaw has its natural authenticity well maintained and has somewhat a rustic feel all together. Although some of the modern day bare necessities are now available here, but most of its natural beauty and charm remains unchanged. You can rent a bicycle and explore this small two street village and drench in its natural beauty which is spiked by the surrounding lime stone peaks and green stretches throughout the entire area. The beautiful Nam Ou River splits this town into two halves and when you cross the connecting big concrete bridge the view from its top is compelling. One can say that this village is still at the crossroads between being a charming little village and being a major tourist spot.
