A small village on the Konkan belt the village of Harihareshwar is mainly popular for its famous Harihareshwar temple. This temple was built in dedication to the Hindu God Lord Shiva. These numerous temples scattered all over the Konkan area are an exquisite example of traditional Indian architecture and the uniqueness of Maratha construction style and design that is the characteristic feature of this place.


This is one of the most popular religious places in the Konkan plains. As the name suggests this popular temple houses a holy idol of Lord Ganesha or as also known as in these Maharashtrian parts Lord Ganpati (the Hindu elephant God). Highly regarded as one of the most sacred temples around the country this place is flocked by pilgrims and tourists alike. This place is also an attractive spot due to its scenic beauty of being a simple coastal village.


This majestic temple situated close to the beach is also popularly known as “Kashi of the south Konkan”. It is a sacred Shiv temple that is situated 14 km away from the town of Devgad. The temple is surrounded by an undisturbed beach with long stretched seashore and clean white sands that further uplifts the beauty of the temple. 


This is one of the largest open-air museums in India. It is situated within the 3 acres campus area at Ganapatipule. This museum has life size depictions of the life of Konkan dwellers in the ancient times.

This museum is adorned with beautiful sculptures of the revered Maratha hero Shivaji Maharaj and takes you through the various key moments of his life that are also pertinent to the history of Maharashtra. Miniature but highly detailed models of the various forts along the sea and other monuments in the Konkan area are also put on display here.

This museum also has a gallery showcasing over 450 paintings by the popular artist, Arun Dabholkar. Some of these artworks can also be purchased. There is also a spice store and a Konkan themed restaurant that serves authentic Konkan cuisine like Modak, Konkan sherbet, etc. within the museum premises.


There are many mango gardens throughout the Konkan belt where one can munch on fresh Hapus (Alphanso) mango and also buy them.

Other parks and gardens around Konkan are Rock garden (6.5 km from Konkan gardens), Smart Eco Park, Kupekhairen Lake, etc.


This popular tourist spot is located at the Sangli district of the Konkan belt. The most popular wildlife found here are the oriental Garden Lizard, Tigers, more than 20 different species of amphibians and 122 types of avian life.
