The best time to visit Lumbini is during April and May when the Buddha Jayanthi, birth of Lord Buddha is celebrated in a grand manner. Buddhists from different parts of world, especially from India and Nepal come and gather here to celebrate this festival. In addition, during this period not only Buddhists but also Hindus flock around this place to visit Maya Devi or Rupa Devi, Mother of Lord Buddha. According to Hindu religion, Buddha is one of the incarnations of Lord Vishnu.
