By Road
There are a few ways to get here, including driving or taking a shuttle. If you are driving you need to drive on State Highway 8 and the lake is around 3 hours away from Christchurch and the same distance from Queenstown. You can also take one of the many shuttles that go to the lake. Some of the shuttle companies include Atomic Shuttles, Intercity Newmans, Great Sights, Southern Link Shuttles and Wanaka Connections. These shuttles make daily trips to and from the city and are one of the most convenient ways to travel.
