Pelling is situated around 133 kilometers from Siliguri and the 125 kilometers from Gangtok. There is the only way to get into the town and that is by road from either of the cities. However, there are many different ways to reach Siliguri or Gangtok. The easiest way to get into the city is by taking a jeep, which is the main public transportation in the area and they can be gotten from Geyzing and takes around 30 minutes. You can also walk the short distance which would take you around 4 to 6 hours. Also, if you are coming from Gangtok or Siliguri you can hop on the jeeps that commute at least 2 times a day. The jeep station is called the West Sikkim Taxi Jeep station and is close to the police headquarters in Gangtok.
The normal jeep service has routes that leave at 7:00 a.m. and again at 12:30 p.m.You can also avail any of the jeeps that are headed towards Rimbi or Kechapalari Lake since they go via the city and you can simply get down and these jeeps leave the station around 01:00 p.m. The jeeps can be found in Siliguri at the SNT Bus stop or from Hill Cart Road and they typically leave at 7:00 a.m. and again at 10:30 a.m.
