Attractions in mussoorie


This is one of the newest attractions in the city and is a must see for children. The aquarium can be found just a ways from the station for the cable car and there are huge tanks that are filled with red piranhas, small sharks and different tropical fish.


There aren't any monuments in this area, but there are quite a few older buildings, including the first Tibetan temple to be ever constructed in India. It was first constructed in 1960 by a group of refugees from Tibet as a place for worship.


This used to be an old bird sanctuary and is the last place the Mountain Quail, now extinct, was seen back in 1876. It was renovated in 1993 and is a beautiful place to come and visit.


There is a lake in the middle of this garden, albeit artificial and you can paddle boat all over the lake. You can even sit and have a picnic while looking out on the villages and Doon Valley.


There are so many places that you need to see around the city, but most importantly, you should visit the many different valleys and cities that dot the area. You can also visit some other cities that are nearby, including Dehra Dun or even Rishikesh.


There are plenty of different waterfalls around the area and nothing is better for relaxing than sitting next to one and reading a book. If you don't want to read a book, then just sit next to the waterfalls and the lakes and just enjoy the nice day.


One of the biggest parts of the culture of the area is the religion and this is one of the ancient temples around the area and this one is dedicated to Lord Shiva or the snake god. This is located around 6 kilometres from the city and you can drive right up to the temple and the views from this location are amazing.


One of the biggest activities that is done in nature is this area is trekking. With all of the mountains that surround the area, it is no surprise, also there are plenty of parks and open areas for picnics. So go out and enjoy the views and the pleasant weather and just relax.

There are quite a few different spas in the area that have different treatments, including massages, facials, salons and even henna if you want it. The top spa in the area is The Golden Palms Hotel and Spa, which is situated in a 4 star hotel.

Food in mussoorie


This restaurant has massive windows that give amazing views of Gandhi Chowk and they serve many different cuisines, including Continental. There are also sizzlers and huge sandwiches and even waffles if you want them for breakfast.



There are a huge range of dishes that are specialties here, and if you like omelettes, then this is the place to go. Here you can get dishes like fish curry, chicken, fish and other tandoori dishes, and all served with different types of rice and even naan or roti.

Night Life in mussoorie


This bar is one of the only places where you will find live music in the city and is the favourite of the city. You can enjoy a few drinks here, either in the bar or outside in the wide open space.



There aren't any nightclubs in the area, but there are a few bars, especially in the bigger resorts and hotels. They might have a place for dancing, but otherwise you will have to wait and dance in the big city or in the privacy of your hotel room.



Not only is this a bar, but it is also a restaurant that serves a huge range of food, including fish curry, tandoori, roast lamb, and much more. You can also get a huge variety of cocktails and beer here. 

Shopping in mussoorie


This is one of the biggest street markets in the area and is one of the best places for local shopping. Here you can get clothing for cheap prices along with everything else you are looking for.


There aren't any flea markets in this city, but instead head over to the Tibetan Market. This is the Indian equivalent of a flea market and you will be able to score some great deals at incredible prices.


There aren't any major department stores in this city, but there are quite a few bigger shops. They sell a huge variety of different items, including clothes and much more.
