How to Reach svalbard and jan mayen

The recommended way of travelling to and fro from the island groups of Svalbard and Jan Mayen is by airways. You get flights from the busiest airport of the islands, Salvard Airport, Longyear. You get flights directly to Norway from here. However you will not get international flights which are a bit of a problem. You can easily get any flight you want after you land in Norway so it is not a big problem.

You can travel by the sea too. There are a few boats and ships which travel from Norway to the islands mainly Longyearbyen. However you will see that the weather is quite harsh and the trip is exhausting. You might as well take a flight since they cost a bit less and are more efficient.
