The best place that features the wildlife of the region apart from the national park itself is the Jim Corbett Museum in Kaladhungi. Along with the natural items of relevance the museum also highlights the life of its founder Jim Corbett. You can also visit the IMA museum while in the city. There is a Survey of India Museum in Dehradun that has a collection of instruments used for mapping the country in 19th century as well as S.P Nautiyal Museum within the Wadia Institute of Geology. A special permission is need for a visit Survey of India museum as it is not open to public. Butterfly museum in Bhimtal and Jageshwar Archaeological museum in Jageshwar are two more relevant spots.
