Located overlooking the Aravalli ranges of Rajasthan, Ajmer is a famous travel destination in India. Tourists, especially the religious opt for Ajmer Tour Packages in heavy number each year to visit the famous Ajmer Sharif or Dargah Sharif which is a markedly popular site in the city attracting people from all directions.
A small town in the arid state of Rajasthan, Ajmer has made its name as a great travel destination owing to its wonderful location, lovely ancient sites and temples. However, the most prominent of all of these places of interest is the famous Dargah which draws both tourists and devotees in great number each year. The dargah which is the resting place of the revered Sufi saint, Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti, is an idealistic religious spot which has had its arms opened for people of all castes, religions and sects since time immemorial. People to visit the place with great enthusiasm and respect to pray and offer ‘chadar’ on the dargah of the ascetic who dedicated all his life to the betterment of the neglected and poor. Even if you are not religious, the Dargah is still a great excuse to visit Ajmer since the complex itself is an astounding creation of fine architectural skill. Built over the years in different eras, including that of Akbar’s reign, the Dargah portrays superior craftsmanship and beauty which is most widely reflected through its lovely silver doors and aesthetically designed interiors.
Although, Dargah Sharif of Ajmer is enough to visit this charming little town in India, there are still other place worth witnessing as well. These prominently include Ana Sagar Lake, Nasiyan Jain Temple, Adhai-Din Ka Jhonpra etc. in Ajmer as well as the famous and unique Brahma Temple in Pushkar.
Whether it is a religious soul or the traveller’s passion that lives inside you, either reason is enough to visit Ajmer on your Rajasthan tour.
