This is the best time to visit Thekkady. The temperature ranges between 21 to 15 degrees Celsius and perfect for sighting animals in the reserve and sightseeing.
Visiting Thekkady during summers is possible. The temperature during the summer months is between 26 to 36 degrees Celsius. The days of course are warm nut the evening are quite pleasant due to Thekkady’s proximity with water bodies.
Thekkady experiences very heavy rainfalls during the monsoon, which usually causes some landslides in the area. Also, the animals are usually not seen after the rains till the forest dries up a bit. Thus it is advisable not to visit during these months. However, if you wish to experience the festivities around Onam (End of August – Early September) you may plan your trip during this time
