Koyna Dam In Chiplun

The Koyna Dam is the biggest dam in Maharashtra. Constructed on the Koyna River, its main purpose is the generation of hydroelectric power. It also channels water for irrigation. It is the largest completed hydroelectric power plant in India. Spanning over an area of 70 km, it reaches all the way to the Mahabaleshwar.
