Swaminaraya Akshardham Temple is nothing short of an architectural marvel. Inaugurated in 1992, the temple complex is perhaps the largest of any in the country. The temple’s main sanctum holds a staggering 7 feet tall statue of Lord Swaminarayan, which along with inducing awe, also leaves you impressed by both the artisanship and the artistry. The temple also consists of many floors or mandapams as they are called here where the devotees can engage themselves in various devotional and selfless services unto Lord. However, this gorgeous temple is not just a complex for worshiping but also a centre for spirituality, art, architecture, education and research.
