Khimsar Fort In Khimsar

This is a grand vintage structure from the 15th century AD. It is presently a premier Heritage Hotel that is managed by the Welcome Heritage group. Located at a distance from the popular city of Jodhpur in Rajasthan, was originally built as a demonstration of power by the rulers to defend the small village from intruders. Established by the eight son of Jodhpur’s Founding Maharaja Rao Jodha is a majestic structure that showcases the real old world royal heritage of India. It now consists of 60 air conditioned luxury rooms within the building.

The present occupant of the fort is the 20th generation of Rao Karamsi’s family and his direct descendant of name Karamsot Rathor. The fort still has an exhibition of guns and cannons, which were used in several great battles from the past. It also showcases several Jain Idols dated from the 9th Century and has an array of beautiful pillars erected in dedication to various war heroes of Rajasthan.

The fort was recently awarded with the National Grand Heritage for Excellence by the Department Of Tourism, of the Government of India. This award is the highest of recognition given to any heritage property in India. The journey along the sand dunes and arid rugged roads of Rajasthan will not prepare you to estimate the beauty and grandeur of this amazing tourist spot.
