Nestled between the mighty Vindhya ranges, Bandhavgarh National Park showcases a beautiful mix of tropical jungle, grasslands and Sal trees. The park which was declared a National Park in the year 1976, is popular for its large population of Royal Bengal Tigers. Once the hunting ground for Maharaja of Rewa, it boasts of rich biodiversity with 22 species of mammals and around 250 species of both birds and other animals. A jeep safari into the woods can help you spot a variety of animals here, including tigers, foxes, leopards, sloth bears, Asiatic jackals, jungle cats, deer, wild boars, chinkara, gaur, monkeys, striped hyenas, eagles and many more.
The Bandhavgarh fort situated at 800 m high cliff in the vicinity gives the park its name and also a superb point to soak in the view of the jungle, vastly spread before it.

How to Reach: The nearest airports to Baandhavgarh are at Jabalpur and Khajuraho while the nearest railway station is t Umariah from where you can easily take a cab to reach the park. It has good connectivity from major cities through both road (Khajuraho, Jabalpur, Kanha, Katni and Satna), and railways (Delhi, Agra, Mumbai, Varanasi and Kolkata).
