This monument is an ancient Mahayana Buddhist Temple. It was built during Sailendra Dynasty. It is a UNESCO world heritage site. This vast ‘stupa’ has thousands of relief panels hundreds of Buddha statues. It is considered to world’s largest and greatest Buddhist shrine. The Karmawibhangga Museum is located nearby.
